Moscot is renowned worldwide for its iconic eyewear – The Originals Collections, The Spirit Collections, and The Sun Collections. The famous brand from New York City infuses its unmistakably refined, downtown aesthetic with nearly 100 years of eyewear expertise and unparalleled craftsmanship to create its timeless eyewear.
Where it all began
It all started in 1899 when Hyman Moscot began selling ready-made reading glasses from a pushcart (that’s how the logo came from) in New York City. Hyman’s son Sol then began manufacturing their eyewear frame under their family name of ‘Moscot’. Currently run by the fourth generation, Kenny and Dr Harvey, they had successfully introduced their family eyewear brand to more than 50 countries around the world! From a humble beginning, the brand has seen changes in history for the last 100 years, but even after a century when a lot of things had changed, Moscot is still here.
Moscot has a few collections. The most famous has to be the Originals Collections. The frames of the vintage-inspired Originals collection precisely replicate styles from the Moscot archives from the 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s. Aside from the style, all the frames are manufactured with high-quality acetate which provides optimum wearing comfort. The most popular models? Needless to say, it has to be Johnny Depp’s favourite Lemtosh!
Anatomy of Our Frames
HINGE
MOSCOT uses three (3), five (5) and seven (7) barrel metal hinges for added strength and durability.
RIVETS
MOSCOT rivets are real and functional. They are not simply for decoration, but instead stake through the frame front and the temple, ensuring sturdy and quality construction that lasts.
TEMPLE TIP
Temple tips are strategically designed so that the frame rests comfortably on the face. Both MOSCOT acetate and metal temple tips can be adjusted by a licensed optician for a proper fit!
BRIDGE
The bridge is the part of the frame front that rests above the nose. The key hole and metal bridge are our most universal fitting.
NOSEPADS
MOSCOT frames feature acetate and metal nose pads, both of which are key components of the frame design but also a integral part of the fit. Our metal bridges with silicone, titanium, and bone nose pads can be adjusted for all bridge types.

Designed and prototyped in New York City, all MOSCOT Eyewear is handmade, using the highest quality materials, real hardware, and hinges that are riveted through the temple and frame fronts to ensure the sturdiest construction possible. In our very own New York lab, MOSCOT manufactures all prescription lenses in-house and carefully inspects every frame before dispensing its eyewear, assuring the best quality and fit.

How We See Fit
Size Matters. We determine size by the width of your face. With over 100 years of optical expertise, we know not every frame fits every face. MOSCOT offers multiple sizes so that you can find the right frame for your face.
If you already wear glasses, we recommend looking at your current pair as a size reference. The numbers indicating size are typically printed inside the temple of the frame.
Brand Ambassador
The other famous collection is the Spirit collection. For people who want a more executive and modern look, the Spirit Collection combines both modern styling and classic elements. It translates the bold, unmistakable look of the Originals collection into styles that are a little bit more mellow and easy-going – but still distinctively Moscot.
And not to forget, for those who fancy sunglasses, there is the Sun Collections where some of the famous models like Lemtosh are fitted with high-quality glass lenses. Talking about vintage, the lens colours on the Sun Collections sunglasses are still the same as it was first fabricated back in the 1940s!
